This guide explains how to reduce noise and spot high-intent leads.
Start with service area
The most important filter is whether the person is in your service area.
In Pipeline On, configure service area by:
- ZIP codes.
- Cities and states.
- Radius from an office or dispatch center.
If your service area is not configured, recovered leads can include people you would never serve.
For automated email or postcard follow-up, set a launch-ready service area first.
Add service lines
Service lines help Pipeline On understand what types of jobs matter.
Examples:
- AC repair.
- Water heater replacement.
- Drain cleaning.
- Roof replacement.
- Electrical panel upgrade.
- Garage door repair.
When a recovered visitor lands on a page related to one of your service lines, that is a stronger signal than a generic home page visit.
Add high-intent paths
High-intent paths are website pages that suggest the visitor is closer to buying.
Common examples:
/contact/schedule/book/quote/estimate/financing/coupons/emergency/pricing/services/ac-repair/services/water-heater-replacement
You can use exact paths or wildcard-style patterns where supported by your setup.
High-intent paths should be specific. Do not mark every page high-intent, or the signal becomes less useful.
Use the Hot view
The Hot view highlights leads that pass your scoring threshold.
Hot scoring can consider:
- Known or confirmed homeowner match.
- Property value signals, when available.
- Multiple pageviews.
- Time on site.
- High-intent paths.
- Service-line match.
- Email availability.
- Address availability.
- Email engagement.
- Service-area fit.
Use Hot to triage first. Then review the full profile before contacting.
Review page journey
A lead is usually more interesting if they:
- Viewed more than one page.
- Returned more than once.
- Viewed a service page.
- Viewed booking, contact, financing, coupon, emergency, quote, or estimate pages.
- Spent meaningful time on site.
- Came from paid search, local search, Facebook, Nextdoor, referral, or another high-value channel.
A single home page visit with no service-area fit is usually lower priority.
Use property and address context
When available, property context can help qualify the opportunity.
Useful signals:
- Address is present.
- Property appears in your service territory.
- Property value is known.
- Property age matches the service you sell.
- The property link confirms it is residential and relevant.
Do not rely on one property signal alone. Use it with page intent, service area, and contact data.
Watch for common noise
Archive or deprioritize leads that look like:
- Internal staff.
- Agency or developer testing.
- Competitors.
- Vendors.
- Job seekers.
- People outside the service area.
- Existing customers already handled by the office.
- Low-intent visits with no service page, no address fit, and no useful contact route.
If you repeatedly see the same type of noise, update service area, high-intent paths, or follow-up rules.
Keep CRM routing clean
If you use Zapier, do not dump every recovered profile into the same sales pipeline without context.
Recommended setup:
- Add source as Pipeline On.
- Add the viewed page or journey summary in notes.
- Route hot leads to the main workflow.
- Route lower-confidence leads to a review queue.
- Use a filter for missing phone numbers if your CRM requires phone.
- Use service area filters before creating jobs or estimates.
