Existing customer suppression

Existing customer suppression

Existing customer suppression helps keep recovered leads from creating noise in your CRM or annoying current customers.

Why suppression matters

Without suppression, your team may:

  • Call existing customers as if they are new leads.
  • Create duplicate customer records.
  • Follow up with people who already have open jobs.
  • Waste CSR time on booked appointments.
  • Confuse attribution and sales reporting.

Who to suppress

Consider suppressing:

  • Current customers.
  • Open estimates.
  • Open jobs.
  • Active memberships.
  • Recent completed jobs.
  • Customers already in a nurture campaign.
  • People who requested no contact.

How to suppress with Zapier

If your CRM is connected through Zapier:

  1. Search the CRM by email, phone, or address.
  2. If a matching customer exists, add a note or task instead of creating a new lead.
  3. If an open estimate or job exists, route to the assigned owner.
  4. If no match exists, create the normal lead or customer record.

Manual review option

If your CRM matching is not reliable, route possible existing customers into a review queue.

That is safer than creating duplicates automatically.
