Data requests, suppression, and privacy escalation

Data requests, suppression, and privacy escalation

This article is general setup guidance, not legal advice.

Privacy, deletion, opt-out, or data-access requests should be handled carefully and escalated when needed.

Escalate these requests

Escalate when someone asks:

  • What data you have about them.
  • Where their data came from.
  • To delete their data.
  • To stop selling or sharing data.
  • To opt out of tracking.
  • To stop calls, emails, SMS, or mail.
  • To speak with a privacy contact.
  • To file a legal or compliance complaint.

What support can help with

Pipeline On support can help identify:

  • Account.
  • Site.
  • Lead record.
  • Suppression status.
  • Relevant timestamps.
  • Whether Pipeline On follow-up should be paused.

Support does not replace legal counsel.

What to collect

Collect only what is needed:

  • Requester's name.
  • Email or phone to identify the record.
  • Website domain.
  • Request type.
  • Date received.
  • Preferred response method.

Do not collect unnecessary sensitive information.

Immediate action

When in doubt:

  1. Pause follow-up.
  2. Record the request.
  3. Suppress the contact if appropriate.
  4. Escalate to the account owner or privacy contact.
  5. Contact Pipeline On support if product action is needed.
